 ; words of Baptism
The sacrament of Baptism includes two simultaneous parts: (1) the immersion or pouring or sprinkling of the recipient with water, while (2) pronouncing a baptismal formula that indicates the meaning of this action. The baptismal formula or words of Baptism are a proclamation of the Trinity: "I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." (See CCC 1278, 1284)
